Sauce piccata is Another example of traditional Italian sauce which has rather sour taste and the aroma of lemons. This sauce can actually be served with chicken, veal or fish Meat. Sauce Piccata Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound chicken breasts, thinly pounded
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Piccata Sauce recipe:

  • Prep the chicken: Instead in a plain plate, put together flour and some amount of black pepper and salt. Dredge the chicken breasts in the flour mixture so that the chicken breasts are coated with it to some extent.
  • Cook the chicken: Place skillet with 2 tablespoons of olive oil on a medium-high heat. Place the chicken and cook it for 2-3 minutes on each side to brown and be sure the chicken is no longer pink inside. Take chicken away from the skillet and place it aside.
  • Make the sauce: In the same skillet, heat butter over to medium heat. Put the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, stirring on the mixture until it smells fragrant.
  • Combine ingredients: Add the chicken broth and lemon juice in the pan you are using. Knead carefully and cook further at low boil for 2-3 minutes or until the sauce gets slightly thicker.
  • Finish and serve: Place the cooked chicken back to the skillet and cover it with the sauce. Sprinkle with chopped parsley. Enjoy immediately with sauces of your choice, for example noodles, rice or with any vegetable preparation of your choice.

  • Thinly pound the chicken: This will make the meat to be well cooked to the middle and tender all through its surface.
  • Adjust the acidity: Of course, if the dish has to be less tangy, it is possible to decrease the amount of lemon juice added to the sauce.
